Mo Manning's Challenge - December 2016

Well here we are in December and on the countdown to Christmas!

With so much to do I made a quick and simple card for this month's sample using A Little Birdie Told Me from Mo's Digital Shop.

Simple, but I thought reflective of the season and sometimes sad times we live in, truly wishing for peace on earth.

More samples are on my teamies blogs, take a look in the sidebar to see them all and pop over to Mo's DP2 Challenge to have a go and maybe win a prize to spend in her store! There were some fabulous entries last month and the theme stays as 'Anything Goes' with a Mo image. So much inspiration and don't forget to check out my page Ellie's Cupboard on Facebook and the galleries on Pinterest.

Craft Fun with Hobbyart

Huge thank you to Jenny Mayes of Hobbyart for a lovely day crafting with her at the All Counties Challenge retreat this weekend in Godalming..

These are the projects we did, love them all but my favourite has to be the little printers tray with four scenes on. Great tips on using the Kuretake pens to colour and blend with. So lucky that because Jenny was local to the area we were a small group and Jenny was able to give individual attention to each of us - priceless!

Fabulous weekend for everyone there who had the choice of working with some other wonderful crafters including John Bloodworth, Leonie Punjol, Sarah Millsop from Beaders Direct, Paula Pascal from Tonic and Dean Wilson who gave their time to support John's chosen charity Mind. Met some lovely people all there to have fun and learn - if you get a chance to go to one of John's events then I would highly recommend it !

Mo Manning Challenge November 2016

Yay! Christmas is coming so I'm busy with some tags at the moment...........

I needed something quick and easy so the backgrounds are simply heat embossed with white embossing powder and then ink blended with some Distress Inks.

Mo's images Toyshop Helper and Corgi and Bess were coloured with my Copics, cut out and stuck on with foam pads. I so love the oversized Christmas jumper on Bess and that little helper is just too adorable !

Got a few more to make so have made all the backgrounds up just need to do some more images and there are so many gorgeous ones to pick from in Mo's Shop ! Don't forget it's the start of Mo's new DP2 Challenge today so pop over and take a look you'll see some fab inspiration from everyone on the team to wet your appetite and then have a go!

Thanks for looking and have fun x

Mo Manning Challenge October 2016

Good morning all, hope you're well. The weather doesn't seem to be able to make up it's mind here in the UK but autumn keeps popping it's head in.

Mo's new DP2 Challenge starts today with the theme Anything Goes (with a Mo Image), here's my design using an image called Skateboard Schoolboy, especially picked for my grandson Harvey whose birthday was last weekend. Seemed to suit him down to a T especially as we got him a skateboard as a present.

No fuss or frills - after all he was 13 so really wouldn't have appreciated that would he ! Simple CAS design with the image coloured with Copics and a few die cuts to personalise it.

Thanks for popping by, there is plenty of inspiration from my team mates listed on the right so I hope you'll take a look and then why not join in the Challenge - you never know you could be the lucky winner of a voucher to spend in Mo's Digital Shop!

Mo Manning Blog Hop - August 2016

Hi - time for Mo's August Blog Hop and the theme for the team was 'Winter'.

So, here's the list of the Dream Team hoppers this month .....

  GrethaJulieGaynorDebby, Daria, OlesyaLou

Erin, me,  Anneke and Kaly.

All you have to do is leave a comment on each blog and two lucky people will receive a voucher to spend in Mo's store to get a gorgeous image.

You'll see we have a new member of the team - the very talented Olesya has joined us!

The lovely image is called 'Chill' from Mo's Digital Shop - see even her breath is chilled!

I tried really hard to make this a winter card without referring to Christmas which is why I went so blue - still covered in glitter lol with a die of snowflakes and an embossing folder of garlands - think I just about did it! Image is coloured with Copics and the background is blended Memento 'Paris Dusk' ink fading from dark to lighter top to bottom.

Hope you join in the hop and check out the other Dream Team designs - there's still time to enter the challenge at DP2 Challenge blog (Anything Goes with a Mo Image) if you want to have a go and try to win a prize there as well. It gets harder and harder each month to pick the top 3 - you're all so talented!

Mo Manning August Challenge

Hi, welcome to my blog. Can you believe it's August already! Where is the time going?

It's the start of another challenge with Mo, as always the theme is Anything Goes (with a Mo image) and I'm staying with clean and simple this month for my version of 'Pignon'..........

I wanted the cute image to say it all so I kept the background to black and white, coloured the main image with my Copics and added some gloss to the toadstool tops and some glitter to the wings and to the row of toadstools at the front.

This image makes me chuckle as I think the fairy is looking for frogs under the toadstools, we've had a few in the garden this year and even some enormous toads! I so don't like them and have been chased up the patio more than once this year....'Stay in the pond !' I tell 'em, but do they listen? Noooo! We've had a few hot days here in the UK, I am so hoping that we'll have a few more, already though it's starting to look like the tail end of summer. I do love the autumn, the colours and smells tell of things to come but just a little bit more sunshine would be nice.

So, hope you're having a lovely summer wherever you are. Why don't you make a cuppa and pop over to the Challenge Blog and have a go this month at the challenge - maybe you'll be the lucky winner and have a little spending spree in Mo's shop, or be picked by the Dream Team as one of their top three? Either way it's fun to join in and there is always some super inspiration from everyone.

See you soon x

Workshop 7th August 2016

Workshop to make either the card or bag shown here.

Busy prepping for my and Martine's workshop this coming Sunday. I'm going to be mainly using this lovely Hobbyart set called Nature Trail, with over 20 stamps in the set there's loads of variety for making scenes to decorate cards.

Those of you coming on the day just bring your usual craft bag to include scissors, knife, DST, foam pads and if you have one a preferred blending tool. Everything will be there but if you have them it helps cut down waiting time.

We'll be making either the card or gift bag (your choice) in the picture above.

I don't know yet what project Martine has for you but I know it'll be gorgeous as usual !

I've been playing with this set so here's a little collage showing some other samples I've made - I'll bring them on the day so you can get some other ideas to play with at home if you've got this set.

Looking forward to Sunday -  see you there if you're coming - I've heard there are a couple of places left if you want to join in just ring Martine on 01634 686823.

Mo Mannings - July Challenge

Hi  - crikey where does the time go and when is summer coming to our shores?

Anyway to brighten things up I made this little card using an image from a set Mo does called Sailor Boy which has loads of images and are so sweet! Gorgeous little boy playing with his toy boat , with a simple die added to balance it out.

Mo's DP2 Challenge starts today, pop over to the blog and check out my teamies inspiration for the simple theme of 'Anything Goes (with a Mo image)'. Why not enter to try and win a voucher so you can get a digi from Mo. Always lovely to see everyone's entries.

Well it's been a busy month again for me, some of it recovering from a rotten summer cold and sinuses .....groan. Not had one like that for a long time and hope I don't again!

Despite all of that June is always a 'family' month with my granddaughter , nephew and daughter all having birthdays in the month and sadly another anniversary of my dad's passing. Life is full of ups and downs, sad memories but hopefully more happy ones as well.

Busy in my head already planning my next workshop in August, and yes I will probably be using the C word, Christmas. Every year I mean to start making my cards in good time, I was talking to a friend on Sunday who has already made 40 - how many have I made ? Zero lol. Just waiting for some stamps I've ordered to arrive then I can get on - fingers crossed the plan comes together. Do you find that? You have a brilliant picture in your head of what you want to do and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't! So yes fingers crossed.

Well I'd better go now, so many things I need to catch up on - housework being the main one, yes I often work to the 'Dust if you Must' mantra but sometimes it really catches up with you !

See you soon x

Poppies one day .........Daisies the next!

I do love daisies (and poppies!) - they always remind me of summer which we may get to have here in the UK soon, who knows!

Gorgeous stamps from Polkadoodles of daisies with lots of little bits and pieces you can add or not - 14 stamps in total in the set. Love 'em.

Kept it clean and simple just stamped, coloured with my pens - and what you probably can't see is the glossy leaves and glittery dabs here and there to add some texture to the card.

Thanks for looking - anyone know where I can get a Cornflower stamp now lol ?

Workshop update

Hi, should have posted this earlier but fell asleep lol! Worn out but happy after yesterday's workshop with Martine and lots of lovely crafty ladies who came along to make cards designed by Martine and me. Last month we worked together on the two designs, this month we  focused on one each.

Here's mine -

This was designed using SB Astoria Dec Elements and labels and a variety of Penny Black floral stamps, everyone chose which one they wanted to do - but the poppy one won by a long way!

This one is Martine's -

Designed using Heartfelt flowers and dies with a few added extras, isn't it gorgeous!

Everyone seems to enjoy making 2 different cards and learning different techniques, so much so that next month's workshop is nearly full already! It'll be on 7th August in Rochester, you can contact Martine at the shop to book a place if you'd like to join us (01634686823). No idea what Martine is going to make but I know it'll have some fab techniques with flowers...........and I'm thinking a Christmas scene with inks - not too inky though!

Hello! Yes it's that time again when you can win some super prizes to spend at Mo's Digital Shop - there's 2 up for grabs and all you have to do is follow the blog hop and leave a comment on everyone's hop post - so why not have a go!

This month's theme is Babies and here's a little cutie I fell in love with a few years ago - called Baby Fairy Flora from Mo's Digital Shop - isn't she sweet!

Last time I used her I went for total fussy and fancy, this time I kept it clean and simple just using some lovely backing papers, a bit of lace and a sentiment - sometimes that's all you need!

So here's the blog hop list, why not make yourself a cuppa and sit back and enjoy getting some gorgeous inspiration from the team.
