Penny Black Snowy Grove

Friday already - where does the time go! Talking of which Christmas is fast approaching so I'm working on some quick cards to make .............

This one from the new Penny Black release is called 'Snowy Grove' - it's a big stamp and really doesn't need much doing to it. I saw this idea with the colours on the Penny Black Blog by Jourdaine Micheline but decided not to add the deer dies as she had. I just stamped onto glossy card with Black Archival Ink and added Memento inks - Paris Dusk, Dandelion and another Archival Ink - Orange. The Let it Snow sentiment is also by Penny Black and I finished off with white pen to go over the falling snow.

Pretty quick and easy to make - just what I need to catch up on Christmas cards!

Thank you for looking and hope you have a good weekend x

Mo Manning's DP2 Challenge - September 2015

Oooh! We're flying towards Christmas aren't we ! This month sees the children going back to school in the UK after the summer holidays, hence the theme for Mo Manning's Challenge for September - For The Teacher.

It's a special day for Trinity - it's her first day at school and she's ready to meet her new teacher with a lovely shiny apple as a gift.

Loved colouring this one up, love her tumbling down socks contrasting with her smooth and perfect hair - my mother always said I looked like I'd been dragged through a hedge backwards so I admire anyone who can keep their hair looking like this! Couldn't resist adding some Crystal Lacquer to her specs and shoes - such a sweet image.

COPIC COLOURS USED
Skin - E000,E00,E21,E11 and R20; Hair - E50,53,43 and 57; Red - R35, 46 and 59; Apple - YG01 and 25 Skirt - W1,3 and 7; Other - Y17. E33, C1 and C3.

Lavinia Stamps - Challenge 9 - Hot Bright Colours

Well the weather may or may not be hot (who knows with our changeable summer!) but the Lavinia Stamps theme is this month! Yes, HOT BRIGHT COLOURS is what we're looking for in September and there are some stunners on the Challenge Blog from my colleagues so why not take a wander over for some amazing inspiration.

Well done to last month's winner - a smashing prize of a £40 voucher to spend in the shop is up for grabs every month..........but you've got to be in it to win it.

Here is my sample for this month's theme -

To make the background I applied lots of water to a piece of watercolour card and dripped some Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed and Picked Raspberry Distress Inks onto it and lifted and turned the card until I got the coverage I wanted. When thoroughly dry I stamped in Versafine ink with 'Seeing is Believing' and one from the 'Dandelions' set and highlighted with gold Glamour Dust. The word Believe is from a die set I have in my stash.

Lavinia have some gorgeous new stamps out so well worth a look and see what tempts you to have a go!

Thank you for looking x

Oyster's Blog Hop 2015

Good Morning ! If you've landed here as a part of the Oyster Blog Hop here's my sample.........

Now I really struggle with 'anything but a card', because basically I'm a card maker lol. So I made a card topper and converted it into a tag.

I used the Memory Box Die Distressed Holiday Collage set, and to me one of them looked just like a candle so I added a flame eh voila ! The poinsettia is made using the Heartfelt Sparkling Poinsettia stamp on vellum with gold and white EP. I added a few sprigs made using the Martha Stewart Medium Branch Punch and a sentiment from Penny Black with some ivy from Spellbinders.

Hope you'll have a good look around the rest of the team's blogs who have some fabulous ideas for inspiration, anyone who leaves a comment on everyone's blog hop post  has a chance to win one of two prizes from Oysters !
