My Favourite Card - Mo Manning's Clubhouse

My favourite card for this last week of 2015 is the card I made when I found out I'd been selected to design for Mo Manning using her fabulous images. Still saying yippee and so excited for 2016 when I can make some more for the team.

From my original post 7th June 2015.
''Do cartwheels that is...............so I'm leaving them to Georgie in his shiny red wellies to show my excitement at being asked to join Mo's Clubhouse Design Team !
Here's a quick and easy CAS card to say YIPPEE! at being able to work with lovely Mo Manning images! So thrilled to be joining such a talented group of colourists in an international team with teamies from the USA, UK, Russia, Germany, Italy and Norway. You'll be able to see all sorts of different styles in the Clubhouse Blog from the team and why not join in the monthly DP2 Challenge - the current theme is Babies but they always run an Anything Goes theme each month as well?
Here are some links for you to check out -
The above image is Georgie Cartwheel available (with lots of other gorgeous images) at http://www.mosdigitalpencil.com
Well off to count my blessings at being (and having been) a member of some fabulous design teams.............not up to cartwheels but may just attempt a happy dance!''

Thank you all for following me, and I wish you all -

A HAPPY NEW YEAR x

My Favourites - Mo Manning's Clubhouse

I so love designing for Mo, such a lovely bunch of people to work with and as a Christmas treat we've been asked to re show favourite images from the year for the next two weeks. Such a hard choice but I have to say I loved making this one......................she's so sweet and I love her glasses and her shoes and socks - oh OK all of her !!

''It's a special day for Trinity - it's her first day at school and she's ready to meet her new teacher with a lovely shiny apple as a gift.

Loved colouring this one up, love her tumbling down socks contrasting with her smooth and perfect hair - my mother always said I looked like I'd been dragged through a hedge backwards so I admire anyone who can keep their hair looking like this! Couldn't resist adding some Crystal Lacquer to her specs and shoes - such a sweet image.

COPIC COLOURS USED
Skin - E000,E00,E21,E11 and R20; Hair - E50,53,43 and 57; Red - R35, 46 and 59; Apple - YG01 and 25 Skirt - W1,3 and 7; Other - Y17. E33, C1 and C3.

This is a popular format I've seen a lot of lately, putting a frame into the card with a little painted scene, I've used Memento Ink Paris Dusk to paint a sky and shadow with Valerie overlapping the frame and onto the card. There's some Stardust Stickles on the tree and snow line if you look really hard!

Mo Manning Clubhouse - Giggling Snowman

Question - Why is the snowman giggling? Answer - Because Santa's lost one of his reindeer ! Poor old Prancer is desperately trying to catch up ...........

Fabulous image - Giggling Snowman from Mo's shop and easy to colour with my Copics (B93, 95 and 97 and a bit of orange for his nose). I made the background with blue encaustic wax which I thought looked like trees in the snow and simply added some die cuts to finish it off. The wax effect is new to me and I found it simple to do with a bit of practice (we won't mention the ones that went in the bin!) - just make sure you use a sealed card stock, low heat on the tool and keep turning the card until you are happy with the effect.

Gradually getting my Christmas cards made, using Mo's images makes it sooooooo much easier!

More playin'

Here are some cards I made after following the Hot Glue Embossing technique by Connie MacFarlane at Splitcoast Stampers this week. If you haven't joined up to their weekly emails it's a really useful site which shares ideas and techniques each week, great inspiration.
Silver hot glue

Gold hot glue

Red hot glue

Great fun to make (follow the link above to their website for more details) - basically you apply hot glue using a glue gun to water colour card and then emboss with embossing powders - I used gold and silver and red on mine and it gave the impression of molten metal - fabulous! I coloured mine with Distress reinkers but you could use water colours/brushos etc and add glitter and gems (blue/silver one has gems added) if you want. Had a great crafty evening last night with Eileen and Martine going through this - we had glue all over the place lol !

Thanks for looking and have a fab weekend x

Mo's Clubhouse - Cat In The Christmas Tree

lol - so had to giggle when I saw this image from Mo's Digital Pencil Shop called Cat in the Christmas Tree

Such a cheeky cat - he's ended up covered in glitter! When my girl's were little they used to tell me it was our cat pinching the chocolates off the Christmas tree - although I did think it was odd that he was leaving the foil behind!

Easy to colour so quite a quick card to make for the festive season and bound to make someone smile.

COPIC COLOURS USED

Reds - R35,46 and 49; Yellows - Y11,15 and 26; Greens - YG01,03 and G94; Blues - B29 and 41; Cat - E21,25 and 29 with R83 for the ears.

Other items used - Penny Black Sentiment Dies, Holly Jolly and Merry Christmas, Stardust Stickles.

Jus' Playin' with a bit of inspiration from others..........

Hi, chilly today down in Kent so I've been keeping busy. Been inspired lately by so many different crafters so I thought I'd share them with you, I'm having great fun jus' playin' - learning and practicing lots of things. Lost my mojo for a while (I'm sure we all have life events which effect us don't we) but these crafters have inspired me to play.

This one was inspired by Heather Telford who uses a lot of watercolour effects and is a designer for one of my favourite stamp makers - Penny Black. This one is called Woodland Wonder and is stamped with black Archival on a piece of watercolour card coloured with water and Memento Paris Dusk Ink. Added a little bit of Crystal Glamour Dust to give it an icy feel.

Lots more playing going on which I'll hopefully show you soon including Encaustic Wax  - thank you to Birgit Edblom  (another Penny Black designer)  whose clean and simple style is adorable and who uses wax in selected elements of her card designs. And then today I've been trying a technique from a guest designer for Splitcoast Stampers  Connie MacFarlane using a hot glue gun and embossing powders then coloured with watercolours.

Planning a play evening tomorrow with a couple of crafty friends so no doubt we'll be making a lot of mess using these techniques so a big thank you to the mentioned designers for giving such wonderful inspiration - if you want a go I have linked the blogs for them - just click on the links and have some fun!

Lavinia - Challenge 10 Glitter and Gems

Autumn, mmm one of my favourite seasons. So much colour around us before the bleak winter arrives! So to add to that the theme this month from Lavinia Stamps is - Glitter and Gems...........

I made this scene using watercolour card with Orange, Gamboge and Leaf Green Brushos and plenty of water. I stamped with Seasonal Tree, Tree Scene and Lavender and Archival Ink. When dry I added some grasses and edges with a black pen and sprinkled on some gold Glamour Dust and a few gems.

Well done to last month's winner - some fabulous inspiration from all the entrants as well as the design team are over on the blog if you want to hop over and take a look. Why not have a go? There's a fabulous prize of £40 to spend in the shop for the winner!

Penny Black Snowy Grove

Friday already - where does the time go! Talking of which Christmas is fast approaching so I'm working on some quick cards to make .............

This one from the new Penny Black release is called 'Snowy Grove' - it's a big stamp and really doesn't need much doing to it. I saw this idea with the colours on the Penny Black Blog by Jourdaine Micheline but decided not to add the deer dies as she had. I just stamped onto glossy card with Black Archival Ink and added Memento inks - Paris Dusk, Dandelion and another Archival Ink - Orange. The Let it Snow sentiment is also by Penny Black and I finished off with white pen to go over the falling snow.

Pretty quick and easy to make - just what I need to catch up on Christmas cards!

Thank you for looking and hope you have a good weekend x
