Penny Black Poppy - using Gilding Flakes

Thought I'd try out a technique my friend Eileen  Godwin showed me for this one. I've seen loads of these poppy images going around since Eileen used it at one of her workshops. But what I was struggling with was using my gilding flakes - for some reason I'd been having problems using the usual glue with the flakes - don't know why, worked perfectly well before but for some reason my recent results were coming out dull and messy. Eileen posted on her blog how to use Versamark and  an EP that looks white but when you heat it up it goes clear and tacky - I used Stamp N' Bond . As soon as it goes clear you apply the gilding flakes and rub off in the usual way. So much easier - and I wasn't covered in sticky flakes hurrah, why didn't anyone tell me about this product before lol !

I used the Penny Black stamp called Poppy Time, stamped on a separate sheet, coloured and cut out and when stuck to the card I glossed up the flower. The background was made using a Memory Box stencil called Textured Honey Combe.

  2. Gorgeous Hellen, I struggle with the glue and guilding flakes but did buy some heat and bond when I saw what Eileen had written on her blog. I've not tried it yet but your results are encouraging me to give it a go.
