Had a fabulous weekend with Eileen Godwin and lots of lovely crafting friends. Lucky enough, as it's so local to me to do the 2 days, here is a couple of cards I made on Saturday using some Lavinia stamps. We're mid month through this month's challenge at Lavinia, so why not pop over to their blog and have a go - £40 voucher prize for the randomly selected winner!
This first tag was made using three colours of pan pastels Violet Extra Dark, Violet Tint and Neutral Grey with the colours first swept over and blended over a moon mask to create a base. Using a torn piece of paper I used the Violet ED to create some mountains and then used the negative of the moon mask to create the moon colours, blending all three colours to give some shape to the moon.
I then used Lavinia Zen Tree and Zen Leaf with Versafine ink to stamp the images. To highlight the tree and leaf I used an eraser to lighten or remove some of the Panpastel colour. Finally adding some co-ordination gems to the tree. Eileen's version of this was in super hot colours (which has become a bit of a trademark for her!) which you can see on her blog. We all had a go using different colours and I'm sure more of them will be popping up on others blogs - they all looked fabulous!
My second Lavinia card was made using the beautiful Zen Butterfly. The background was randomly stencilled with 2 stencils and Distress Ink. The butterfly was stamped on top of this and coloured with Poppy Promarker, the trick then is to stamp the butterfly again but on acetate (use Stazon Ink!) and coloured with the same Promarker and then attached to the butterfly body underneath. A few pearls just to finish it off and we're done.
So a fab day catching up with old friends and meeting many new, it was a full house with near on 30 of us attending and I had great fun creating these and other projects on the day.
