Had a super day on Saturday up at Oyster Stamps at a workshop with Jacqui Dennis, lovely to see Jacqui again. We're on two Design Teams together but rarely get to see each other so it was great to have a catch up and also to learn more colouring techniques and tips from her.
In the morning we worked on the Striped Candy Cane stamp from Heartfelt Creations which I have decoupaged up to make a card with the addition of a Memory Box die of a lacy bauble (La Rue?) simply matted and layered using some Maja Design and Fabscraps papers on gold card.
In the afternoon Lyn showed us some Panpastels backgrounds which were fab, haven't had a chance to make any cards up with them yet though! Martine also demonstrated the Fiskars Stamp Press - great way to 'try before you buy'.
Having got into the swing with the pens again I made a couple of Whimsy cards for children - their images are so sweet and make lovely children's cards. This first one is very simple 'Jingle Cat', coloured and decoupaged I attached it to some Spellbinders die cuts of a Christmas bauble to make a 3D tree ornament and obviously had to add some jingly bells!
And finally another Whimsy image 'Christmas Bunny' with some Dee's Distinctively and Magnolia dies - and of course some glitter and a bit of Frontage because it's for Christmas!!
All stamps and dies available (subject to stock) from Oyster Stamps, Rochester, Kent - Telephone 01634 686823 or Website http://www.oysterstamps.co.uk Not all are shown on the website so please ring or call in, particularly for the Whimsy Stamps.
